The Great Yorkshire Fringe will return next summer, bringing comedians, music and entertainment from across the globe to the centre of York.
Taking place from Friday 15th to Sunday 31st July on Parliament Street, the 2016 festival will last 17 days, spread over three weekends.
The event is anticipated to be even bigger and better than this year’s inaugural event, which attracted 100 performers and over 120,000 visitors, and festival founder Martin Witts is promising groups lots of laughter.
“We have some of the biggest names in comedy signed up and others that will be new to the region. We promise to deliver a non-stop cavalcade of laughs over the summer,” Mitts said.
The festival will include comedy, music, cabaret, magic, theatre and family entertainment, as well as the Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year competition. Open to all non-professional acts, the contest will see budding comics battle it out in daily heats before the grand final on 31st July, which means you and your group may catch a glimpse of the next big thing in the world of laughter before anyone else.
Further information on ticket sales and the line-up are expected to be announced shortly.
