The Scarecrows’ Wedding, based on the children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, will be making its West End premiere at Leicester Square Theatre from 9th July to 4th September.

The play is directed by Eva Sampson, with design by James Button, lighting by Elanor Higgins and music by Darren Clark. It is produced by Scamp Theatre in association with Watford Palace Theatre.

Synopsis

Described as a heart-warming love story, The Scarecrows’ Wedding tells the tale of two scarecrows called Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay who decide to get married.

The plot sees Harry set off to search for wedding day essentials including a dress of feathers, a bunch of flowers and a necklace made from shells. However, when the farmer notices he is missing a scarecrow, he replaces Harry with the devilishly smooth but dangerous Reginald Rake.

Audiences will watch as Reginald tries to woo Betty, and find out if Harry can make it back in time to save the wedding day.
