Travelodge

Travelodge is celebrating 30 years of trading in the capital with three new hotel openings and another expected later in the year, all in areas with plenty for groups to do.

The new hotels have opened in Acton, Bromley and Dagenham, areas outside the city centre with a great appeal for groups.

In August the hotel chain is also opening its new flagship hotel, London City Travelodge – which will be the company’s largest new build development to date, with 395-rooms.

Group-friendly attractions near the hotels

Acton: Nearby attractions for group itineraries include Acton Market, a circus-themed pub called The Aeronaut and Putt in the Park, a fun golf experience for all ages. Located just outside of the busy city centre, Acton is also in close proximity to Heathrow Airport.

Bromley hotel: Visits to Bromley may include a trip to the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, an attraction dedicated to the RAF. It was also home to Charles Darwin, H.G Wells and Enid Blyton for those interested in learning of the location’s history. For groups who fancy shopping there's the Bromley Charter Town Centre Market and the Walnuts Shopping Centre.

Dagenham hotel: Dagenham has plenty to offer including a Victorian engine house called Crossness Pumping Station, Valence House Museum, Go-karting, Eastbury Manor House and The Chase Nature Reserve.

The four new Travelodge hotels boost the firm’s portfolio to 565 properties.

Tony O’Brien, Travelodge UK property director, said: “With these openings we will operate 75 hotels in the capital and offer more choice than ever before.”
