Ullswater ‘Steamers’ has revealed its VIP group cruises for 2021, giving group organisers exclusive sailings on a dedicated vessel to take in the views of the Lake District National Park.
For the first time, groups will be able to jump aboard the MV Lady Wakefield for an exclusive sailing next year, with the vessel now kitted out with dividing screens to enable socially distanced, Covid-secure trips for up to 50 passengers.
The VIP tour passengers will take part in a one-hour sailing from Glenridding, at the southern end of Ullswater, complete with a live commentary which helps guide members along the Lake District’s highest mountains and landscape of the World Heritage Site.
The 71-year-old MV Lady Wakefield will be dedicated completely to the group travel market and will set sail on the hour throughout the day.
GTOs will travel for free and tickets include complimentary tea and coffee on arrival.
Rachel Bell, head of marketing and development at Ullswater ‘Steamers’, said: “This is quite a step up for group tours and reflects the importance we place on the group travel market.
“It means a select number of passengers will have their own boat for VIP, Covid-secure experiences on a spacious vessel which, in normal times, could carry up to 150 people.”
“Groups also have the added reassurance that they can remain completely separate from passengers outside their tour who are travelling on our daily scheduled services.”
