Virgin Voyages is targeting group travellers with an enhanced programme designed to make it easier to book and provide more benefits for groups planning a cruise holiday.
The programmes, now called Circles, Groups, and Weddings has been launched ahead of the maiden voyage of the new vessel, Brilliant Lady and offers flexibility, more perks and improved rates for groups.
Those cruising as a group will receive a variety of benefits when booking together directly through Virgin Voyages or through a travel agent, including up to a 10% discount, up to £235 in free drinks and a group dinner at one of Virgin’s six Michelin-inspired restaurants.
A group on board a Virgin Voyages cruise consists of a minimum of eight cabins. Group organisers can hold the eight cabins for up to 30 days before needing to provide deposits and names of members.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages said: “Thanks to our incredible First Mates we are having a record Wave season with a more than 60% increase in revenue from February of last year, and a more than 80% increase coming specifically from our dedicated travel partners. We made a commitment to our Travel Advisor community to always take feedback and turn it into action.”
Benefits for groups
New benefits included for groups and their members when booking includes no minimum requirement for cabins, deposit free booking, price and promotion protection and one complimentary cabin for the group travel organiser once ten cabins have been booked for the group.
The programme is designed for those who already have groups ready to book and benefits also include on-board bar tab options.
Separately, the Circles programme is aimed at travel agents and provides more time and flexibility for them to build groups, with more advantages for group members, including deposit free booking.
