VisitWiltshire has announced its autumn familiarisation visit to Wiltshire will take place between Sunday 2nd October and Tuesday 4th October.
The trip aims to give group travel organisers a taste of what Wiltshire has to offer and includes what’s being termed ‘hidden gems’, old favourites and other optional elements.
For the first time ever, VisitWiltshire will also run a one to one meeting and exhibition at Marlborough College, where GTOs can chat to local partner businesses about any attractions or museums they may not have time to visit during the trip.
The trip begins with arrival at 2pm at Salisbury Station on the Sunday.
Sunday afternoon will be spent visiting Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta and Sarum College, before dinner is held at The Cathedral Hotel Restaurant.
The overnight stay will take place at a Salisbury hotel such as The Cathedral Hotel, Milford Hall Hotel & Spa, Holiday Inn Salisbury-Stonehenge or Grasmere House Hotel.
On Monday, people will visit Old Sarum, Longleat House, Great Chalfield Manor and Bowood House & Gardens. Lunch will be spent at Bridge Tea Rooms in Bradford on Avon, and shopping and dinner will take place at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon.
Overnight, visitors will stay at Swindon Hotels; either Hilton Swindon or Alexandra House.
The final morning of the fam trip will begin with a visit to Avebury Stone Circle, followed by the one to one meetings and exhibition at Marlborough College School.
GTO’s will then have the choice to either end the trip with a 13:44 train to London Paddington, or choose to stay for lunch at The Stonehenge Inn & Carvery followed by an afternoon visit to Stonehenge.
Spaces are limited so GTO’s are advised to register their interest as soon as possible.
For more information and to register interest in joining the trip, GTO’s should contact Flo Wallace on 01722 341309 or email on groups@visitwiltshire.co.uk.
