The West End production of Wicked has released 500,000 new tickets and is now booking until 30th November 2019 at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre.
Groups wishing to see the musical will now be able to book as far in advance as November next year.
Extra shows have also been added to the musical’s run in the West End, including 21st February, 18th April, 15th August, 29th August and 24th October, all starting at 2.30pm.
The story of Wicked
The musical follows the re-imagined story of L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Gregory Maguire.
Based on Maguire’s book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West and adapted for stage by Winnie Holzman, Wicked tells the untold story of an unlikely friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The production features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, whose credits include Disney’s Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchanted, as well as DreamWorks The Prince of Egypt, and Godspell. The musical includes songs such as Defying Gravity, For Good, and Popular and is directed by Joe Mantello.
The show currently stars Alice Fearn as Elphaba, Sophie Evans as Glinda, David Witts as Fiyero and Andy Hockley as The Wizard.
Other cast members include Melanie La Barrie, Chris Jarman, Rosa O’Reilly, Jack Lansbury, Laura Pick, with Carina Gillespie and Maria Coyne on standby for the role of Glinda.
The cast is subject to change from 22nd July 2019.
