New shows will include Twist and Shout, Sing As We Go and The Christmas Variety Spectacular.
Wicksteed Park’s daytime shows
Sing As We Go will celebrate the centenary of the end of World War One, and tells the story of troops who are determined to entertain their colleagues in the face of adversity.
Audiences will watch soldiers caught in the trenches keeping their spirits high by listening to the radio girls back home, before trying to start their own concert party to entertain the troops. The show will be performed on selected dates in June.
Twist and Shout is described as a nostalgic and fun-packed musical journey through the sounds of the 60s. It will feature more than 40 songs, a live band and a cast of six singers and dancers performing hits like She Loves You and Glad All Over and I’m Into Something Good. The show will be performed on selected dates in September.
The Christmas Variety Spectacular kicks off the festive season with Christmas music, dance and laughter and includes singers and dancers from the West End and a variety of comedy performers.
With over 30 costume changes and vocalists from shows such as Les Misérables, Oklahoma!, Miss Saigon and Carousel, there’s something for everyone and the chance to have a festive sing-a-long. The show runs on dates throughout November and December.
