London’s Park Theatre will host the premiere of new comedy drama called The Retreat from 2nd November until 2nd December.
The Retreat will be the first play by BAFTA award-winning writer Sam Bain, who is famous for being a co-writer on nine series of the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show from 2003 until 2015, as well as Fresh Meat, a comedy-drama about university students.
The Retreat: synopsis
Luke, a former high-flyer from the city, is on a meditation retreat, searching for the inner peace that has so far eluded him. His mind refuses to settle – and then his obnoxious older brother, Tony, shows up.
Audiences will question if Tony is everything that’s wrong with Luke's old life, or if he is the only one who can really see into Luke’s soul. Spectators will also discover a world where ‘we can never escape ourselves, or find ourselves either’.
