Perfect for groups
As well as bespoke group packages and discounted admission, group travel organisers can also treat their members to a decadent afternoon tea, or grab tasty lunch together before or after the tour with the exclusive groups menu.
What to expect
General tours include a visit to The Royal Mint Exhibition, an exciting treasure trove of precious historical coins and rare artefacts. Here you will be taken on a journey through history, right back to around 886AD starting at The Tower of London. Find the Alfred the Great penny which is a staggering 1,100 years old, medals from the London 2012 Olympics, the UK’s first Sovereign from 1489 plus much more.
Visitors can then take the unique opportunity to strike their own coin, in the very mint where the highest quality coins and medals are made for collectors all over the world, allowing you to start your coin collection in style.
A range of different events
Amazing events also run throughout the year at The Royal Mint Experience, such as Markets at the Mint (the last Saturday of every month), where you can pick up some wonderful Welsh crafts or food made in the local area. Or book an evening of refreshments and fascinating talks from industry experts, giving you further insight into some of The Royal Mint’s historic connections.
These evening events have featured guests from far and wide, including coin designers, world-renowned historians and members of The Royal Mint Museum themselves.
At Christmas, The Royal Mint transforms in to a spectacular winter wonderland, covered in snow. You will find more than 40 Christmas trees, thousands of festive lights, decorations and not forgetting the main event itself, Santa. The team says it guarantees you a visit like no other. Festive private tours for groups are available.
